I did an analysis on the SP 2011 Guide with how the season results turned out in my league (10 team auction). Turns out if you can get one of the Tier 1 guys for $14 or less, you should grab them. Tier 2 and 3 have some gems but there were a couple Tier 1 guys that were good value...Hamels, Haren, Cain and Weaver all were less than $14. People drove up the price on Lee, Lester, Sabathia...all good players but the $20-$25 price tag each for those guys would leave you with nothing in the tank for offense. Look forward to trying that strategy again this year with the 2012 guide.

Jonah,

I think it's pretty darn close between the two. Stauffer does have the favorable home park for sure. Stauffer's divisional lineups prob aren't much better than Scherzer's since Stauffer doesn't get to face his own Padres lineup. I like the Colorado and Arizona lineups, meanwhile LA & SF have strong components within their respective lineups. Meanwhile all of the Central lineups are like LA/SF with strong components, but aren't great as a whole. But Scherzer wins out by a nose on pure talent for me. Focusing too much on the peripheral elements (ballparks, lineups, division, etc...) is a dangerous path so I just go with raw talent on a close match like this. Tigers-bias aside, I still lean Scherzer.
