I think it’s pretty darn close between the two. Stauffer does have the favorable home park for sure. Stauffer’s divisional lineups prob aren’t much better than Scherzer’s since Stauffer doesn’t get to face his own Padres lineup. I like the Colorado and Arizona lineups, meanwhile LA & SF have strong components within their respective lineups. Meanwhile all of the Central lineups are like LA/SF with strong components, but aren’t great as a whole. But Scherzer wins out by a nose on pure talent for me. Focusing too much on the peripheral elements (ballparks, lineups, division, etc…) is a dangerous path so I just go with raw talent on a close match like this. Tigers-bias aside, I still lean Scherzer.
